The 402-HSP is best known as the HSP Cold Air Intake for the 2007.5-2010 LMM Duramax Equipped Chevrolet and GMC trucks. This Cold Air Intake system is a great add-on to existing modifications or even just a standalone mod that you won’t ever add anything to.
Why would you need the HSP Cold Air Intake for the 2007.5-2010 LMM Duramax?
The factory intake on the LMM Duramax is less than ideal when it comes to keeping up with the demand that the engine can require. The LMM Duramax is an extremely capable engine when given the correct support. We see all too often failures of filters that cause a cascading series of failures. Having clean, cool, and consistent air to go into the engine is one of the if not the most important factors of engine performance.
What does the HSP Cold Air Intake do differently?
The first major change that the HSP Cold Air Intake makes is the size. Using a 4 ½” mandrel-bent tubing provides an extremely consistent and free-flowing path that enables the HSP Cold Air Intake to outflow others on the market. Using HSP Diesel’s heatshield we are able to prevent hot engine air from entering the HSP Cold Air Intake and pull in more cool dense air. On average HSP Diesel saw a 20 Horsepower and 58 pounds of torque increase in the dyno. Using HSP Cold Air Intake you have the ability to make more power and have cleaner air entering the turbocharge to prolong its life.
