Fitment Notes:

  • Fitment: 2019-2024 Ram 6.7L Cummins 24-Valve engines requiring a fire-ring head gasket.
  • High-strength cylinder head studs are required. We recommend using ARP 625+ head studs to achieve the clamp load necessary for high-cylinder-pressure applications.

Installation Notes:

  • Proper surface preparation is critical for reliable sealing.
  • Cylinder head should be flat within .003 Inch end-to-end
  • For best results, machine both the cylinder head and engine block
  • If the block is not resurfaced, clean the deck thoroughly using a 320-grit (or finer) sharpening stone to remove imperfections without damaging the deck surface
  • Proper groove geometry is essential for fire ring performance.
  • For applications under approximately 800 HP, grooves may be cut into the cylinder head
  • Always use a .120 Inch radiused cutter
  • Groove radius should measure .017 Inch - .018 Inch
  • Proper installation is just as important as the gasket itself.
  • 1. Torque head studs to 130 ft-lbs during assembly (or follow the fastener manufacturer's specifications if different).
  • 2. Bring the engine to operating temperature.
  • 3. While the engine is still warm, perform a complete hot retorque.
  • 4. Because the gasket compresses during retorque, verify and adjust valve lash afterward.
  • 5. Perform at least one additional retorque before exposing the engine to full boost, heavy load, or maximum RPM.
  • Apply assembly lubricant generously to the threads, washers, and nuts
  • Ensure every fastener receives equal lubrication
  • Never exceed the torque specifications provided by the fastener manufacturer

Applications:

  • High-performance street trucks
  • Competition and race engines
  • High-boost turbocharger combinations
  • Heavy towing applications with elevated cylinder pressure
  • Builds producing 800+ horsepower
