The factory coolant tank on the 2015 and 2016 LML trucks is something that is going to cause you a problem sooner rather than later. The major issue is that it is made of plastic, while this may seem like it’s not a big deal with the heat cycles that the coolant tank sees the plastic gets brittle fast. When the plastic gets brittle you often have issues with the tank cracking and this causes leaks and eventually could cause a cooling system failure. We also often see that the factory plastic coolant tank yellows over time and looks very unsightly under the hood of the truck.
What does the HSP Factory Replacement Coolant Tank do differently?
We start off with the major issue that is found with the factory tank, the plastic construction. We solved this problem by creating the HSP Factory Replacement Coolant Tank out of CNC cut and bent aluminum. We also designed the HSP Factory Replacement Coolant Tank to be a drop-in style replacement. What we mean by this is the HSP Factory Replacement Coolant Tank can go directly in place of the stock one you are taking out. We wanted the HSP Factory Replacement Coolant Tank to be a no-brainer when it comes to installing and so we made sure that the factory provisions and fittings will work just like they need to as well as the factory low coolant level sensor. With the metal construction of the HSP Factory Replacement Coolant Tank, you are able to powder coat the tank to have a matching or accenting feature inside the engine bay.
